Jolly LLB 3 Stars Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi Summoned by Pune Court Over Disrespecting Profession

Jolly LLB 3: A Pune Civil Court issued summonses for Bollywood actors Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumru in relation to their forthcoming film Jolly LLB 3, following accusations that the teaser of the movie portrays legal professions in an unprofessional manner. Film release is set for September 19.
After lawyers Ganesh Mhaskhe and Wajed Khan filed a complaint against Jolly LLB 3’s makers, JG Pawar of the 12th Junior Division issued summonses. Petitioners demanded that a stop to the release of the movie be placed, as the teaser was deemed to have tarnished the image and dignity of judges and lawyers. Actors and producers were ordered to appear before the court on August 28.
This controversy is a result of the recent teaser for Jolly LLB 3, which features Akshay and Arshad wearing lawyers’ bands to promote the movie. Petitioners claim that the portrayal of Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi in the teaser of Jolly LLB 3 is damaging to the legal profession, as well as insulting the judiciary.
In this movie, lawyers all refer to judges by the name ‘Mamu.’ Wajed Khan, India Today: “This is an insult against the judiciary.” Wajed Khan also expressed concern about the way in which courtroom proceedings are depicted.
Petitioners raised further objections to the film’s mocking approach to legal proceedings. The film shows lawyers arguing as though it were a domestic dispute. “Even if it’s meant as satire, this is offensive to everyone in the legal profession,” said one of the petitioner attorneys.
The teaser for Jolly LLB 3 was released last week, and it generated a lot of buzz. This film is the third instalment of the Jolly LLB series, which has previously dealt with legal issues using comedy and drama.
The film, presented by Star Studios and written by Subhash Kahoor with production by Alok Jain & Ajit Andhare, is produced by Alok Jain & Ajit Andhare. Saurabh Shkla, Huma Qreshi, Amrita RAO, Gajraj Raio and Akshay Kumar are among the star-studded cast.
Fans got a sneak peek at the theme of the movie earlier this month through a short video featuring Saurabh Shkla reprising his role as Judge Tripathi in the previous films. This character is a favorite of fans throughout the entire franchise.
The Jolly LLB Series has addressed different aspects of Indian law, using humour often to bring attention to serious issues in the judiciary. This latest episode faces legal issues before it is released, creating an absurd situation in which a movie about lawyers ends up being involved with actual court cases.
The makers of Jolly LLB 3 need to address the concerns of their audience as the August 28 hearing approaches. This case brings to light the debate in Indian film about whether or not creative freedom should be weighed against respecting professionalism.
Fans and observers of the industry are waiting in anticipation to see what happens with this courtroom drama.
