Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Purohit Not Guilty in Malegaon Bomb Blast Case 2008

(India) – After years of court battles and a prolonged incarceration in prison, Lt Col Prasad Purohit has been acquitted by the NIA special court today. The case was the Malegaon bombings from 2008. All seven defendants were acquitted by the court, which cited insufficient evidence as a basis for charges brought under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) or other strict provisions.
