No Survivors in AN-24 Russian Plane Crash: 5 Railway Officials Among Victims

Moscow, Russia: Tragedy strikes as an An-24 crashes in the Amur Region, leaving no survivors. This crash has claimed 49 lives, five of them Russian Railways employees. It is currently the subject of an investigation.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal investigation into violations of air traffic regulations and rules that resulted in the deaths of two or more people due to negligence. The Committee’s Press Service confirmed that “all persons aboard the aircraft died.”
The company reported that five of the dead were employees from Russian Railways. A 38-year-old deputy director of the Far Eastern Traction Directorate and a 43-year-old chief engineer of JSC RZDstroy’s Construction and Installation Trust No. Both were on business. The 32-year-old Khabarovsk section leader engineer was on holiday with his family, and a 64-65-year-old married doctor couple from RZD Medicine were coming back from vacation.

Russian Railways has expressed its deepest sympathies to the victims’ families and promised to assist financially those who are left behind in this time of crisis.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry has mobilized a significant response in response to this crash. The Russian Emergencies Ministry has deployed a ground rescue team to the site of the accident, along with additional resources, including an Mi-8 helicopter dispatched from Khabarovsk as well as a mobile group from Blagoveshchensk. One hundred forty-nine experts and 21 pieces of equipment are involved in the operation, which includes rescue personnel, psychologists, and rescue specialists.
An-24, a plane en route to Tynda from Blagoveshchensk, carried 43 passengers, plus six crew. After the aircraft made a second attempt to land near Tynda Airport, contact was lost. A burning wreckage was found on a mountain near the destination, about 15 km away. The Ministry of Emergency Situations has shared footage of the crash scene.
