OpenAI has announced its plans to establish its first local office in New Delhi in the second half of this year. OpenAI is experiencing a remarkable increase in its Indian market. ChatGPT usage has quadrupled over the last year.

ChatGPT Go, a subscription plan tailored for India priced at Rs399 a month and with UPI integration support, is one of these initiatives. OpenAI also announced the OpenAI Academy – a national AI literacy program created in partnership with India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
ChatGPT GPT-5, the company’s newly launched model that supports Indic languages significantly better than its predecessor. OpenAI also introduced Study Mode. This specialised feature guides users in personalised learning with interactive questions and step-by-step instructions.
