Skip the Metro! Reach Noida from Delhi Airport in 20 Minutes After Dwarka Expressway UER-II Inauguration

New Delhi –Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated today two major infrastructure projects which will revolutionize the connectivity in Delhi and NCR. Urban Extension Road-II and the Delhi Section of the Dwarka Expressway will reduce the travel time from Noida to Indira Gandhi Airport to only 20 minutes. This is a major milestone for the transportation network in Delhi.

At the inauguration in Rohini were Union Minister Nitin Gaddari, Delhi Chief Minister Rekhagupta, and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini. Also present at this event were a number of BJP leaders. The landmark corridors will ease congestion in seven cities of the Delhi-NCR area and improve connectivity.

UER-II is a 76-kilometer road that runs between Alipur and Mahipalpur, near the airport. This six-lane highway, built at an estimated cost of Rs 7,716 Crore, connects important areas such as Mundka, Bakkarwala, and Najafgarh. This expressway connects to other major highways, such as Delhi-Chandigarh and Delhi-Rohtak. It creates an integrated transport network.

The 29-kilometer Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway opened simultaneously to the public. The section runs from Kherki Daula’s toll booth to Shivmurti in Mahipalpur. It connects seamlessly with the Gurugram extension that will be inaugurated on March 20, 2024. These corridors together will allow uninterrupted access to Delhi, Gurugram, and Jaipur, while reducing the pressure on Delhi’s arterial roads.

According to the National Highways Authority of India, the UER-II is part of the Delhi Master Plan for 2021. The corridor stretches 54 km within Delhi and 21 km into Haryana. This project features eight lanes of dedicated service roads and four interchanges with multiple levels. It also includes numerous underpasses to facilitate traffic flow.

The officials have stressed that the access-controlled expressways not only will save commuters valuable time, but they will also reduce traffic congestion on the Ring Road in Beijing and at other important bottlenecks. Modern infrastructure will be able to cope with increasing traffic while still maintaining safety and efficiency standards.

Both projects represent significant investments in Delhi-NCR’s transportation infrastructure. The Dwarka Expressway, worth Rs. 9,000 crores, was built in four packages. The two projects are significant investments for Delhi-NCR’s transportation infrastructure, and they have been recognized as changing the game in terms of connectivity.

These new corridors provide a 20-minute direct route for daily commuters as well as travelers from Noida, Delhi, and its western suburbs. The dramatic decrease in travel time will address a challenge that has plagued commuters for years in the area.

This inauguration is the culmination of many years of construction and planning to meet Delhi-NCR’s increasing transportation requirements. These projects will boost the economy in these regions and improve the quality of living for the residents.
