Sunny Deol, the lead actor in the much-anticipated film Border 2, captured the heart of the country for another reason. The video, which shows Sunny Deol guiding Prakash Kaur to her vehicle, has been shared on social media. This coincides with the release of Border 2, his highly anticipated war drama sequel.
Sunny Deol is seen in the video being widely circulated holding his mother, Prakash Kaur, with great care and helping her to walk toward their car. Prakash Kaur’s public appearance in this video is especially significant because she has not been seen in public since the death of actor Dharmendra in 2025. Instant Bollywood originally posted the video showing him comforting his mother, which sparked a flood of emotions online. Social media users have been praising him for his respectable demeanour and the bond between son and mother.
Border 2’s theatrical release was not without its initial challenges on the first day. Several early morning shows in different cities were cancelled due to delays. Digital delivery platforms such as UFO Movie warned cinemas that downloads would be delayed. The content of the film had reached theatres on Thursday evening. Border 2’s runtime is nearly 192 mins, so the processing took longer than anticipated. This led to certain screenings at 8Am and 9Am being cancelled.
The excitement about Border 2 is still high in the entire country despite the initial technical problems. The film is a sequel to the 1997 classic blockbuster, produced by Nidhi Dutta and Bhushan Kumar. Analysts expect a strong Republic Day Weekend performance, thanks to the promising numbers of bookings. Sacnilk reports that the film’s advance sales have already reached Rs 12.50 crore, while over 4 lakh tickets were sold in more than 16000 shows, including 2D, IMAX and 4DX.

Border 2 is the sequel to the 1997 hit film Border. Anurag Sing directs it. The story is set during the India-Pakistan War of 1971 and highlights the combined efforts by the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy on various fronts. Sunny Deol plays the leading role in this film, along with Varun Dhawan and an ensemble cast including Diljit Dhawan. Mona Singh is also featured, as well as Sonam Bajwa. Anya Singh and Medha Raan.
