Election Commission Of India Rejects Allegations of Voter Fraud By Opposition

Election Commission of India – The Election Commission of India has addressed the allegations of voter fraud during the 2024 Lok Sabha election, stating the opposition had missed an opportunity to highlight any irregularities in electoral lists in the “Claims & Objections phase”.
ECI reiterated its commitment to transparent electoral processes and stressed that parties had plenty of time before elections to examine and voice concerns about the electoral lists. The ECI stated that the best time to bring up any issues with the Electoral Rolls was during the Claims & Objections phase of phase. This is exactly the purpose behind the sharing of the Electoral Rolls amongst all political parties and candidates. If these issues had been raised on time and through the appropriate channels, the SDMs / EROs would have been able to rectify the errors, if they were genuine, before the elections,” clarified the Election Commission.
It outlined its process for ensuring the integrity of the electoral roll. The ECI makes the final electoral roll available on its official website and in digital form to all parties after publishing the first draft. After one month for submitting claims and objections, the ECI prepares and shares its final electoral roll with all recognised political parties.
ECI has reiterated that it is open to all scrutiny and continues to be committed to ensuring the integrity of the electoral rolls. The ECI stated that “ultimate transparency is the hallmark of preparation of an electoral list as per laws, rules, and guidance.”
