Delhi Rape News: 39-Year-Old Man Sexually Assaulted His 65-Year-Old Mother Twice
Delhi Rape News: A troubling case in Delhi’s Hauz Qazi district has surfaced. In this disturbing incident, a man aged 39 was arrested after he allegedly sexually assaulted his 65-year-old Mother twice, as “punishment.” The police confirmed that they have made the arrest, and said the investigation continues.
After the family had returned from Saudi Arabia after a pilgrimage, the accused assaulted her on at least two occasions. The victim and her daughter filed the complaint with the Hauz Qazi Police Station, according to police. The accused was charged with Section 64 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (rape).
In the complaint, it was revealed that on July 17th 2017, the woman and her husband (a former government employee) travelled with her daughter to Saudi Arabia as part of a pilgrimage. The accused repeatedly called his father during their pilgrimage, demanding that they immediately return. The accused also asked his father to divorce his Mother for having had “illicit relations” with her during his childhood.
The situation quickly escalated after the family returned to Delhi on August 1st. He locked her in a small room and forced her to take off her burqa. Then he physically attacked her. The victim, fearing more harm, sought shelter at the home of her older daughter. When she returned home to her family on August 11th, the abuse persisted.
In the complaint, the horrific sequence of events was described. The accused, around 9:30 pm on August 11th, locked his Mother into a bedroom under the pretext of having a private conversation. The accused then raped his Mother, justifying the act as “punishment for past affairs”.
The accused assaulted the victim again three days later, on August 14th, at around 3:30 am. The victim, distraught, confided her feelings to her daughter, who encouraged her to take action by reporting the crime. The two women went to the Hauz-Qazi Police Station the next day and filed a written complaint.
Delhi Police stressed their commitment to ensuring justice for the victim and to reassuring her and her family. A police official stated that the accused had been arrested and investigations were underway.
The heinous crimes have sparked anger and sorrow, highlighting the urgent need to address family violence and support survivors by taking swift legal action. The authorities have promised strict punishment for the perpetrator and an in-depth investigation.
