Red Fort Security Drill Results Suspension Of Seven Delhi Police

Delhi (India) – Seven Delhi Police personnel, including head constables, have been suspended after an incident occurred during a regular Red Fort security exercise. They were in charge of maintaining security for the historic site and failed to spot a fake bomb that was planted by the Special Cell, Delhi Police, as part of an exercise.

This incident occurred on Saturday, just days before the Independence Day festivities on 15 August. The Red Fort remains an important location in the program, so security is extremely critical during this period. Daily security drills at the Red Fort are carried out to assess and improve preparedness.

Police officials claim that members of the Special Cell wore plain clothes to enter the Red Fort and placed a fake bomb strategically. This device was not detected during the training, which led to the suspension of officers due to their negligence. A team from the Special Cell conducted a drill in which personnel dressed as civilians entered the Red Fort holding a fake bomb on Saturday. A police official stated that the team assigned to the Red Fort security failed to find the bomb and was therefore suspended.

Delhi Police organises regular drills to strengthen its security system and identify any lapses. These exercises are especially important this year as the Independence Day celebrations will be held in a secure environment. Recent security lapses have prompted the authorities to examine and strengthen existing protocols in order to eliminate vulnerabilities.

The Red Fort is a national symbol and remains one of India’s most secure places, especially during major events. The incident serves as a warning to be vigilant and precise in order to protect the monument and its visitors.
