Maruti Suzuki E Vitara: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, marking a historical milestone for India as it was India’s very first electric vehicle that is designed to be exported worldwide. Maruti Suzuki e-Vitaras will be exported to over 100 countries, including Japan. This establishes India as a hub of electric vehicle production.
Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur manufacturing plant in Gujarat hosted the launch ceremony, which saw the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara roll off the assembly line. PM Modi inaugurated, as part of the same event, a lithium-ion manufacturing facility that is state-of-the-art, which was a joint venture between Suzuki, Toshiba and Denso.
