Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati Text “I Love You” To Students, Sexual Harassment Charges

Swami Chaitanyananda: A police investigation of allegations of sexual misconduct at Sri Sharda Institute of Indian Management, led by the self-styled leader and director of the institute, Swami Chaitanyananda, has been expanded to include disturbing new evidence. Partha Sarathy, 52, a religious leader born in Odisha who was accused of sexual harassment by multiple female students, is now facing serious charges.
A probe of Swami Chaitanyananda revealed that he had a long history of indecent behavior. WhatsApp messages found during the investigation showed that the accused sent messages including “Baby,” I love you,” and “I adore” to students as well as comments on their clothing and appearance.
The FIR, filed in 2025 by multiple female students, accuses the religious leader, 52 years old, of coercion and intimidation. Nearly 50 female students have provided evidence that suggests a pattern of systematic abuse in the Vasant Kunj educational and spiritual establishment located in New Delhi.
Details of the case reveal that Swami Chaitanyananda may have abused his authority. A complainant described her experience shortly after being admitted in October 2024. She was summoned for the first time before Diwali. After a minor fracture in December, the doctor instructed her to send an X-ray to his mobile. This was when inappropriate communication began.
She reported that she received unsolicited texts such as, “You look beautiful today”, and was threatened with reduced grades if the student did not respond. Under the pretense of performing a ceremony to celebrate a brand new BMW, Swami Chaitanyananda called the student in March 2025 and sent her messages asking for personal meetings.
Shweta Bhavana and Kajal, three women identified by the names of Shweta and Bhavana, are accused to have pressing complainants into deleting incriminating emails and writing apology letters on their behalf. Investigation reveals students had first to line up to apply color to Swami Chaitanyananda, then they were summoned to his office over alleged inappropriate behavior.
Additional allegations arose from a June 2025 trip to Rishikesh, when several students claimed they had been called at strange hours and molested. The academic consequences for those who refused to comply included examination bans or mark reductions.
Swami Chaitanyananda is not facing such allegations for the first time. He avoided molestation accusations in both 2009 and 2016 by using his network and influence, according to police records.
In early August, 17 women filed complaints together at the Defence Colony Police Station. Swami Chaitanyananda, initially believed to be located in London, was eventually traced back to Agra. In the Delhi High Court, he filed an anticipatory application for bail but retracted it after a few days.
Investigative work continues to be done by the authorities in order to bring justice to those who have complained and stop further abuses within schools.
