Haryana IPS Officer Suicide Case Takes a new turn as the Investigating Officer Dies by Suicide

The investigation of the Haryana police officer’s suicide by IPS Y Puran Kumar took a tragic and dramatic turn. Sandeep Kumar was an Assistant Sub-Inspector who had been investigating a case of corruption against the deceased IPS Officer. He committed suicide this morning. A detailed note and video were left by him, which introduced shocking allegations to the case.
Sandeep Kumar was shot in a field by his revolver after being posted at the Rohtak cyber cell. He claimed in a suicide note of three pages that he sacrificed his life to “truth”, and made grave allegations against the deceased Y Puran Kumar. The circumstances of this second Haryana police officer’s suicide have been scrutinised more closely.
Sandeep Kumar left behind materials in which he described Y. Puran Kumar, a corrupt cop who killed himself out of fear that his alleged crimes would be revealed. Sandeep Kumar claimed that the IPS official had tried to conceal the allegations of corruption by framing it as a matter of caste prejudice.
Sandeep Kumar reportedly captured Y Puran Kumar’s gunman taking a bribe from a contractor for liquor. The contractor reportedly approached Y Puran Kumar after he received threats from a gangster. The IPS officer’s transfer was prompted by the bribery accusations. Sandeep Kumar claims that Y Puran Kumar reacted to this by trying to make the case caste-based before his death.
Sandeep Kumar recorded a video before he died, in which he made further shocking claims. After Y Puran Kumar’s posting to Rohtak, he allegedly replaced all honest officers in the range with corrupted ones. These people, called petitioners, blocked documents and tortured people with a mental health condition by demanding money. Sandeep Kumar claimed in the video that women police officers were sexually abused in exchange for transfer. This latest Haryana police suicide is a dark addition to an investigation that was already complicated.
