Faridabad Terror Plot Foiled, Large Cache of Explosives Found near Delhi
A terror plot was foiled in Faridabad following a coordinated effort by Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), the Intelligence Bureau, and local authorities. Joint forces have seized an impressive amount of explosives, weapons, and ammunition from a house in Dhauj, a village near Delhi. Initially, reports indicated the presence of RDX. However, since then, officials have clarified that the explosive was not RDX.
This operation was a major counter-terrorism victory, as it prevented a number of attacks that could have had a high impact. The team recovered approximately 100 kg of ammonium-nitrate, which was distributed over 14 bags. The team also seized an AK-47, 84 cartridges in live fire, timers, and a chemical solution of five litres. They also found 48 items that were believed to be parts for assembling improvised bombs (IEDs). Satender Gupta, Faridabad’s Police Commissioner, confirmed that the substance was not RDX as initially reported, but rather ammonium nitrate.
