Amit Shah: Rahul and Tejashwi are hell-bent on making Seemanchal into a “Den” of ‘Infiltrators’ in Bihar Elections

During the Bihar Elections, Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, accused Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, and Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD candidate, of “being hell-bent” to turn the Seemanchal Region of the state into a den of infiltrators. Amit Shah made his comments during a public rally in which he reaffirmed the commitment of the federal government to immigration and national security.

Amit Shah told the crowd that his Centre would detect and identify illegal immigrants in a systematic manner. The Home Minister assured the voters that their names would be removed from the electoral roll and they would then be deported. His remarks highlight the BJP’s firm stance against illegal immigration. It is a major theme of their Bihar Assembly Elections campaign.

Amit Shah told the electorate in a direct speech that the opposition coalition is losing support. Shah said that the Congress and RJD coalition had already lost half of the state, in reference to voter turnout during the first round of voting.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated the sentiment at his rally in Sitamarhi. The first voting phase was viewed as a major blow for the opposition. He said, “First-phase voter turnout is 65-volt Jhatka jungle raj.” Further, he criticised opposition leaders, saying that “People in Bihar don’t want a ‘kattasarkar.’ They are making them sleepless.”

Prashant Kisor, a political strategist and leader of Jan Suraaj, offered an alternative perspective about the dynamics surrounding elections. Kishor mocked early poll predictions and pointed out the high voter turnout in the first round as an indicator of the public’s sentiment. The record-breaking turnout, he said, shows that “changes are definitely coming to Bihar” and suggests a possible shift in state politics. These contrasting views from regional and national leaders will be closely monitored as the Bihar Assembly Elections progress.
