Bengaluru (India) – Two suspects in the kidnapping and killing of a thirteen-year-old Bengaluru boy have been arrested following an overnight police operation. During the confrontation with law enforcement, two of the accused were injured and then arrested.
Nishchith was abducted on Wednesday night as he walked home after attending tuition in Shantiniketan Layout, Arakere. His father, who is a professor at a university, was concerned when Nishchith did not arrive home. He immediately filed a report of missing persons with the Hulimavu Police Station. The boy’s tragic and horrific life ended on Thursday night when the burnt remains of the boy were found in an abandoned location near the Bannerghatta Forest.
The authorities reacted quickly to the horrific crime. On the basis of intelligence, the law enforcement agencies tracked down two suspected criminals. Police officers shot the two suspects and rendered them unconscious during a chase that turned into a confrontation. After their arrest, the suspects were treated at Jayanagar Government Hospital. They are now expected to transfer to Victoria Hospital to receive further treatment.
Nishchith’s death has left a dark cloud over the community and his family, who are still struggling to comprehend the enormity of this crime. The investigation is still ongoing by law enforcement, and additional efforts are being made to gain a better understanding of what led up to the tragic incident.
