Ground Services Vehicle Captures Fire Meters from Air India Plane in Terminal 3 Video

A bus used by SATS Airport Services Private Limited to provide ground services caught fire in Terminal 3 of Delhi Airport this afternoon. The bus was parked just meters from an Air India plane. Around noon, the incident took place near bay 32. Airport fire crews responded immediately.

The Delhi Airport fire bus was completely engulfed in video footage. At the time, the bus was empty and only the driver was present. The fire started without any passengers on board or bags.

Delhi International Airport Ltd. (DIAL), the operator of Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, acted quickly to control the situation. Airport firefighters responded within minutes to the incident and extinguished a Delhi Airport bus fire before it spread.

In a post on the social media platform X, DIAL called the Delhi Airport fire a “stray accident”. In a “stray” incident, the bus of one of our ground handlers caught on fire today around midday. The expert ARFF on the ground acted immediately and put out the fire in a matter of minutes. At the time, the bus was fully empty and stationary. No injuries or fatalities were reported. The normal operation of the airport continues. “Our safety and that of our staff, as well as passengers, is paramount,” read the statement.

SATS Airport Services Private Limited (a third-party service provider at Delhi Airport that provides ground services to multiple airlines) has opened an investigation to determine the cause of the Delhi Airport fire. This company offers a variety of services, including ramp operations and equipment management at various terminals.

Delhi Police has confirmed there were no injuries in the Delhi Airport fire bus incident. Police officials confirmed that only the driver of the bus was present in the vehicle at the time. The authorities have stated that they will conduct a full examination of the bus to find out what started the fire.
