India Demands Accountability from Pakistan For Human Rights Violations After Pok Protests

PoK Protests: India strongly condemns Pakistan for its handling of the widespread PoK demonstrations and calls on international accountability to address what India describes as “horrendous” human rights abuses against innocent civilians.
Residents of PoK are protesting in several places, demanding justice and basic rights. They also want an end to the oppression they call systematic by Pakistani authorities. PoK’s protests brought attention to the worsening situation of human rights in the area.
Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the External Affairs Ministry, addressed Friday’s media briefing regarding the situation. Jaiswal responded to questions regarding the PoK protests by saying, “We’ve seen reports of protests and brutality in Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
According to the spokesperson, “the current unrest is a natural result of Pakistan’s aggressive approach and systematic plundering of resources in these territories, which are still under illegal and forcible occupation.” PoK protests highlight long-standing grievances of residents regarding resource exploitation, administrative neglect, and a lack of attention.
India’s diplomatic reaction underscores the seriousness of the current situation in the area. Jaiswal said that Pakistan must answer for the horrific violations of human rights it has committed. He indicated India’s intent to bring this issue up at international forums.
PoK’s protests exposed complex dynamics that exist between the local population and Pakistani administration control. The Pakistani security force has reportedly repressed peaceful demonstrators who were seeking representation and basic rights.
These protests in PoK coincide with wider discussions on human rights accountability. The deteriorating conditions and need for transparency in investigations of alleged crimes against civilians have been expressed by international observers.
India’s demand for accountability is part of its wider strategy to highlight human rights concerns in areas it believes are under illegal occupation. PoK’s protests are a stark reminder of unresolved tensions in the region and their human costs.
As protests continue in multiple parts of PoK, the international community is continuing to keep a close eye on developments. Local populations’ calls for basic rights and justice have increased pressure on Pakistani officials to resolve legitimate grievances peacefully rather than by forceful suppression.
