Jolly LLB 3 Faces Legal Trouble: PIL Filed in MP High Court Over Song ‘Bhai Wakheel Hai’

Jolly LLB 3: A lawsuit has been filed by the Madhya Pradesh High Court against the Bollywood movie Jolly LLB 3 for ridiculing lawyers in its song “Bhai Wakeel Ha”. According to the petition, the Jolly LLB 3 music depicts lawyers as being disrespectful and trivializing.
A PIL filed by an attorney raises grave concerns over how the Jolly LLB 3 music portrays the members of the legal community. The petition states that the actors portraying advocates are seen dancing in the movie while wearing neckbands, which is considered a symbol of responsibility, dignity, and solemnity within the legal profession. This petitioner claims that the depiction of this in the Jolly LLB 3 is not only offensive but violates Section 5B Cinematograph Act 1952.
In addition, the petition alleges that Jolly LLB 3 contains “objectionable and derogatory” lyrics that harm the feelings of both advocates and members of the public. This legal challenge claims that these lyrics in Jolly LLB 3 “encourage vulgarity” and are harmful to youth, raising questions about the wider social implications.
According to the advocate who brought the PIL, while Article 19(1) (a) is fundamental and guarantees freedom of expression, it does not guarantee absolute liberty. In the petition, it is emphasized that Article 19(2) restricts such freedoms in order to maintain decency and morality as well as prevent contempt. The petitioner is seeking immediate action based on constitutional grounds regarding the Jolly LLB 3 music.
In the legal action, it is requested that the court directs authorities to deal with pending complaints “by giving a spoken and reasoned decision within a specified time limit.” The petition also seeks to stop the broadcast, exhibition, and distribution of the controversial Jolly LLB 3 through all media.

It is not the first time that the film has faced a legal issue. The Allahabad High Court recently dismissed a petition seeking to stop the film on the grounds that the movie allegedly harmed the legal and judiciary profession. Justice Sangeeta Chandra and Justice Brijraj Singh said they had “not found any objectionable matters to warrant intervention by this Court.” Judges specifically examined the lyrics to the Jolly LLB 3 “Bhai Vakeel Hai”, and concluded that they would not interfere with genuine lawyers’ practice.
Different high court decisions highlight the debate in Indian film about artistic expression and professional dignity. The Jolly LLB 3 controversy is a reflection of broader tensions in the entertainment industry between professional and creative sensibilities.
