Kurnool Bus Accident Investigation Continues as Police Examine Two Possible Scenarios

Police investigators have been examining different scenarios for the Kurnool Bus Accident that occurred on the Kurnool – Hyderabad National Highway No. 44. Investigations are focused on determining whether or not the collision was a fatal head-on collision between a private bus and motorcycle, or if a bus ran over an already lying motorcycle on the road.

Investigators are left with contradictory evidence regarding the events that led up to the Kurnool Bus Accident. Andhra Pradesh’s Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha originally stated that the accident was caused by “a biker oncoming”. However, police believe it may have been a more complicated situation.

The investigation is now looking into the possibility that this bus accident may have been caused by an earlier incident of hit-and-run involving Shivshankar, a motorcycle rider. The skid marks and tyre markings that stretch nearly 170 metres from the location of the body found on the motorcycle to the bus, which is completely burnt, provide crucial clues as to what happened during the Kurnool accident.

According to the investigating officers who are working on this case, “to get clarity, the police are trying to collect video footage from the surveillance cameras on either side of the accident site.”

Investigation has led to several questions regarding the movements of the motorcyclist that evening. Shivshankar told his mom he planned to go to Dhone and meet with a friend. However, police officers noted that Shivshankar would not have travelled in the opposite direction of the bus if he had been returning from Dhone back to TV9 Prajanagar Colony.

K. Ramesh Naidu, IGP for Railways and Road Safety in Telangana, examined the crash site and observed unusual features of the incident. If a high-speed bus hits a bike on the road, it will be sent into the air or sideways. The bike was rammed between the two wheels of the bus’s front end. “This needs to be determined,” Naidu said.

Due to the destruction of both vehicles by fire, there are additional difficulties for the Kurnool accident investigation. Since both the V. Kaveri Travels bus and motorcycle were totally burned and left no trace of the accident, the Locard principle cannot be used to determine the cause of the accident.

The Kurnool accident is being investigated by teams of experts in forensics, fire service personnel, and police. It will take more time to investigate and gather conclusive proof in order to find out who is responsible for this tragedy.

It is important to conduct thorough investigations in cases of traffic deaths. The police continue to investigate all possible leads in order to give answers to the families of those 19 people who died as a result of this tragic incident.

The Kurnool Bus Accident investigation is a collaborative effort between multiple agencies of law enforcement to determine the sequence of events leading to the fatal collision that occurred on National Highway No. 44. Authorities continue to investigate the case in order to identify the causes and determine who is responsible for it.
