Maithili Thakur Indian Idol Contestant Now Youngest MLA in Bihar Assembly

Maithili Thakur, the celebrated singer, reality television star, and former MLA in Bihar, is the youngest member of the Legislative Assembly at age 25. Thakur, who represented the Bharatiya Janata Party in Alinagar’s constituency, won. This marked a transition for Thakur from her music career to the political world.
Maithili Thakur, 25, won the election against Binod Mishra of RJD and Biplaw Choudhary from Jan Suraj Party. With this victory, she becomes the youngest member in the Bihar Assembly. It is not only a milestone in her political career, but the culmination and a journey that began with music. She captured the hearts of Indians long before entering politics.
Maithili Thakur was born into a musically inclined family. Her father and grandfather trained her in Hindustani and Maithili classical music from an early age. Her father moved the family from Delhi to support Maithili Thakur’s prodigious talents. Maithili began to perform at musical events in Delhi when she was ten years old. She soon became known for her talent after appearing on television programs like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champions and Indian Idol Junior. Although her experience on the shows was not without its highs and lows, at age 16, she took first place in the I Genius Young Singing Star competition and placed second on Rising Star.
It was not easy to achieve success. According to reports, the family moved 17 times in order to locate a quiet place for their children’s music practice. They were rewarded for their persistence with a new home in Delhi and offers from Bollywood stars like Karan Johar’s production house as well as Yash chopra. Maithili has chosen to move from music into public service. She brings her popularity and dedication to the field of politics.
