Pinay Gold Medalist Viral Video: Did the Jerriel vs ChiChi Face-Off Really Happen?

A social media image depicting an altercation between two individuals named Jerriel or ChiChi has been discredited as a digital creation. It has been proven that the “Pinay Gold Medalist”, a viral video, and accompanying photo “Choose Your Fighter”, which appears to show Zayn and Vera Hill at odds, are artificial intelligence creations.

Recently, the fact-checker published a fact-check finding that the content widely circulated is fake. This image shows two people face-to-face, suggesting a disagreement or connection in a viral video. Investigations reveal the photo is fake. The photo was likely created digitally using deepfake technology, not a photograph of a real event.

The “Jerriel vs ChiChi” face-off photo is widely shared on Facebook and other social media platforms. Is it real or not? “Here’s what you need to understand,” said the report about the spreading of misinformation.

Investigation revealed several inconsistencies, proving the photo was unauthentic. The bottom photo has a watermark that reads “DoLAI”, which refers to AI-based tools for photo generation and face swapping. The subjects in the photo are also wearing gold medals, even though they’re not Olympic athletes. This is done to confuse the viewer and give the picture a false sense of credibility.

The image is artificial due to technical errors. The skin of the face appears unnaturally smooth, and the grips on the mobile devices appear distorted. The inconsistencies in lighting between the face and the body suggest the composite was created from multiple sources. Deepfake photos generated by AI algorithms will show these signs.
