Brave Hotel Staff Rescues Man Swept Away by Floodwaters in Rajasthan

Ajmer, Rajasthan A dramatic rescue in the city that floods have hit has attracted national interest. A pilgrim, clutching a water bottle, was taken away by strong floodwaters that have overwhelmed Ajmer after torrential rainfall during the last few days. The incident was recorded on film and posted widely on social media.
The incident took place when the pilgrim got caught by the powerful currents close to the Hashmi Hotel. Quickly stepping in, a brave employee of the hotel was quick to respond. He sprinted through the rough waters to reach the person and then successfully carried the person to safe shores. His selfless deed of bravery transformed a moment that could have been tragic into one of hope and heroics, gaining much praise for the rescuer’s swift thinking and savage reaction.
Ajmer has been severely impacted by continuous rains, leaving many roads submerged, causing massive disruption all over the city. The video footage uploaded by ANI early on a Saturday morning shows Ana Sagar Lake overflowing due to the continuous rain. As per Municipal Corporation Chief Engineer Vinod Manohar, the flooding may be in part due to the release of water out of the channels that drain into the lake.
