Tejashwi Yadav Journey: From a ‘Water Boy’ on the Cricket Pitch to Bihar Assembly

Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal, has cemented his place as an influential figure in Bihar’s politics. He has made a major transition, from playing cricket in his youth to being the face of the Mahagathbandhan in the Bihar Assembly elections. It is the second time that he was chosen to play this role after the 2020 elections.
Tejashwi Yadav is the son of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Dev, two former chief ministers from Bihar. He was a professional cricket player before he entered politics. He is now a leading opposition figure, ready to take on the government directly in an election that will be highly anticipated.
Tejashwi will contest from Raghopur, an important seat. The first round of voting is scheduled to take place on 6 November. In this contest, he will be facing off against Nitish Kumar, the current chief minister and veteran politician. Tejashwi Yaddav served twice as Nitish Kumar’s Deputy Chief Minister. The alliance dissolved after the JD(U), which had realigned itself with the NDA. This set the scene for the current rivalry between the two parties. RJD leader stated that he was twice deputy of Bihar CM Nitish Kumru before the alliance went south and JD(U) returned to the NDA fold.
Tejashwi Yadav’s leadership and the Mahagathbandhan are the focus of attention as the state gets ready for elections. Sejashwi Yadav’s campaign is focused on issues that are important to the state. His leadership will also be vital in steering opposition efforts in Bihar in order to form a new government.
