Rajnath Singh Says Operation Sindoor Was Not About Starting A War

The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said today that Operation Sindoor’s primary goal was not to escalate the situation and start a war between India and Pakistan. Singh, speaking nearly five months following the conflict, confirmed that India’s military had achieved its strategic goals during the operations. These remarks were made by Mr Singh while speaking to a group in Bhuj (Gujarat).
Rajnath Singh, the Defence Minister, performed a ” shastra Puja” (worshiping of weapons) during his visit to celebrate the Dussehra festival, which is a custom he maintains in order to honour the armed services. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to the fight against trans-border terrorism in his speech and emphasised that it will be continued with full determination.
Rajnath Singh reflected on the mission and detailed Pakistan’s unsuccessful attempts to penetrate India’s defences. He explained that Pakistan had failed to breach India’s defence system between Leh and Sir Creek during Operation Sindoor. In his remarks, the Defence Minister said that India’s military had not only foiled these attempts but “exposed Pakistani air defence apparatus through its retaliatory action. He said that this sent a clear message to the rest of the world that India is capable of causing significant losses against any opponent at a moment and location of their choice.
Rajnath Singh, in a statement that highlighted the importance of this region, warned against Pakistan’s recent expansion of its military infrastructure adjacent to Sir Creek. He said, “Any aggression from Pakistan in the Sir Creek Area will be met by a resounding reaction, which will change history and geography.” This statement highlights India’s readiness and firm position on protecting its territory integrity.
The Ministry of Defence in India
It is the Ministry of Defence’s responsibility to coordinate and supervise all government agencies and functions relating to national security and the Indian Armed Forces. India’s ceremonial chief of the army is its president. In order to fulfil their responsibilities in defence of India, the Ministry of Defence gives the military the resources and policy framework to do so.
