Bihar Assembly Elections: PM Modi arrives at Party Headquarters as NDA Leaders

As the Bihar Assembly election results are announced, it appears that the National Democratic Alliance is poised to win a major victory. The NDA currently holds 202 out of 243 seats. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the New Delhi party headquarters, he was seen waving the traditional Gamcha.
Latest trends in the Bihar Assembly Elections indicate that the NDA has performed well, exceeding its result from 2020 of 122 constituencies. The victory gives Nitish Kumar a chance to serve a 5th consecutive term as chief minister, confirming his position as the longest-serving chief in Bihar. The Mahagathbandhan coalition is leading with 33 seats while Prashant Kisor’s Jan Suraaj has yet to secure any seats.
The counting of the votes in the Bihar Assembly election began on Monday at 8 am. This was after a record-breaking voter turnout, which reached 67.13% for both phases of voting held between November 6-11. Tejashwi Yaddav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, dismissed exit polls that predicted the NDA would win with an overwhelming majority.
RJD won the Raghopur Constituency despite the general trend. RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav was able to win by more than 11,000 votes. Samrat Choudhary, Vijay Kumar Sinha and Tej Pratap from the Janshakti Janata Dal are also prominent candidates. Rajesh Kumar of the Bihar Congress and Samrat Chaudhary were both Deputy Chief Ministers.
The election results highlight Bihar’s dynamic political scene. State-wide trends indicate a strong mandate for the NDA, showing voter confidence in their leadership and policies. All eyes are on the Election Commission of India to make the official announcement.
