Shocking! Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Attacked During Public Hearing: Attacker Identified as Gujarati

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta: The Delhi Police has identified Sakriya Rajesh Khimji Bhai as the 41-year-old resident of Rajkot in Gujarat who is accused of attacking Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at her weekly hearing. This incident took place on Wednesday during CM Rekha Gupta’s regular ‘Jan Sunwai” program held at her home.

Delhi Police is interrogating the accused, who was apprehended immediately at the crime scene. The investigators found that Sakriya had arrived with documents relating to a relative currently in Tihar Jail. According to sources, he requested the Chief Minister intervene for his relative’s release.

Around 8 am, the attack occurred during Rekha Gupta’s public grievance session, which began an hour before. Eyewitnesses claim that Sakriya appeared to approach the Chief Minister normally, gave her a piece of paper, then launched an attack.

Sources revealed that “he introduced himself, handed a document to the Chief Minister, and launched an assault afterward.” Sources revealed that the accused allegedly slapped the CM. Gupta pulled out her hair before being restrained.

Delhi Police has asked Gujarat Police for assistance to confirm the details of the suspect’s identity and address. Sources confirmed that Delhi Police had sought the assistance of Gujarat Police in order to verify the details provided by the accused regarding their identity and place of residence.

Authorities are still investigating Sakriya’s possible political affiliations. The motives of Sakriya, beyond merely seeking the release of his relative, remain under investigation.

Rekha Gupta, Delhi’s CM, was examined as a preventative measure after the incident. Jan Sunwai sessions, held weekly by the Chief Minister of Delhi, are public forums that allow citizens to voice their concerns directly to state officials.

BJP spokesperson Praveen Shakar spoke about the incident. He described the attacker as a “man, estimated to be 35 years of age, who gave a document, before attacking the Chief Minister suddenly.” While the political affiliations of the attacker are unclear, he noted that his comments before the attack suggested possible links to political unrest in Delhi.

The accused was transferred to the Civil Lines Police Station, where interrogation is continuing. Delhi Police is working with Gujarat authorities in order to confirm all the personal information and background details about Sakriya Bhai Khimji Bhai.

The incident has raised concerns about the security of public officials at community engagement events. The “Jan Sunwai” program was designed to keep direct contact between Chief Ministers and their citizens. However, questions have been raised about the enhanced security protocol.
